AFTER

The first house renovated for the "Nu-Pieds Setouchi" project in Yamaguchi-ken is the "Fisherman house" - a very simple and ordinary house located at the centre of Murozumi village, bearing few if none interesting feature to preserve.

BEFORE

The house was stripped from top to bottom. Plastic, inox and all un-earthy materials removed. Recycled wood planks from Oshima island as well as other sustainable materials were put in as well as the use of non-toxic paints over original wood veneer. We found an old artisan in Hiroshima to redo our "Tsuchikabe" / traditional mud walls in some part of the house. All appliance came from Shunan, Bokkuriya Toishi shop and antics from Ohkubo in Kudamatsu
